St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church

About

SaintPicker is a simple, prayerful tool designed to help Catholics discover a saint to walk with them for a season — whether that’s a year, a retreat, or a particular moment of discernment.

The site was originally built to serve St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Ijamsville, Maryland, as a small gift to support parish life and faith formation. It is not affiliated with the parish in any official capacity, but anyone is welcome to use it freely.

Many parishes and families practice the tradition of being “assigned” a saint, often at random, trusting that God can work even through chance to draw our hearts where they need to go. SaintPicker was created to support that tradition in a gentle, modern, and distraction-free way.

When you choose a saint, the selection is intentionally random. This isn’t meant to replace prayer or discernment, but to invite it — offering a name, a life, and a story that you may not have chosen yourself, and encouraging you to listen for what God might want to teach you through them.

SaintPicker is:
  • Free to use
  • Free of ads, accounts, and tracking
  • Designed for parish, family, and personal use

The site is maintained as a small volunteer project and is especially intended to serve parishes, RCIA/OCIA groups, schools, and individuals looking for a simple spiritual practice without unnecessary complexity.

May the saints pray for us — and may we grow closer to Christ through their example.
