St. Bruno

Feast Day: October 6

Saint Bruno, born in Germany in the eleventh century, was a man of profound intellectual gifts and deep spiritual desire. He was a respected teacher before God called him to a more contemplative life, and he founded the Carthusian Order. Through their austere monastic rule, the Carthusians sought a life devoted entirely to prayer and seeking God in solitude.
