Saint Jerome, a learned scholar of the late fourth and early fifth centuries, dedicated his life to studying and translating Scripture. He is renowned for his diligent work on the Vulgate, the Latin translation of the Bible which served the Church for many centuries. Through his deep study and devotion, he gifted the faithful with a more accessible understanding of God's word.
