Saint Matthew, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, was a tax collector before he answered the Lord's call to discipleship. He left his occupation to follow Jesus, and his Gospel account offers a testament to Christ's life and teachings. We are reminded of his willingness to embrace a new path in service to God.
