St. Maximilian Kolbe

Saint Maximilian Kolbe was a Polish Franciscan friar and priest who dedicated his life to missionary work and the promotion of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. During World War II, he was imprisoned in the Auschwitz concentration camp. There, in an act of profound charity and self-sacrifice, he offered his life to save another prisoner. His witness continues to inspire faith and devotion.
