Saint Pius V, born Antonio Ghislieri, served as Pope from 1566 to 1572. He was a Dominican friar dedicated to the reform of the Church, implementing many decrees of the Council of Trent. A man of deep prayer and asceticism, he is remembered for his pastoral zeal and efforts to promote Catholic unity and devotion.
